Final two pandemic-delayed BTO projects completed: HDB
Both Build-to-Order (BTO) projects, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) and Kempas Residences, observe the completion of HDB’s pandemic-delayed housing ventures. Overall, the 92 projects have delivered over 75,800 new flats to Singaporeans over the last five years.
Positioned around New Punggol Road, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) makes up 1,179 units of two-room flexi, three-, 4- and five-room condos across 6 residential blocks. Following pandemic problems, the project’s last block was completed twelve month from its first Probable Completion Date (PCD) at an earlier time this month.
As at Jan 15, 37 households or about 7% of 555 lined up units have collected their keys.
Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has publicized the finalization of the final 2 pandemic-delayed ventures from HDB, according to a Jan 20 release.
HDB is expected to alert the remaining flat proprietors of their key collection date soon, following the finalization of the final blocks within both ventures this month.
The 22 house projects consisted of two Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) projects, that were completed within a waiting duration of less than 3 years. The SWT work, Parc Glen at Tengah and Grove Spring at Yishun, made up an overall of 1,995 flats.
The final block, which was delayed by six months from its first PCD, was finished in mid-January.
The standing projects had waiting times of as much as 5 years. On the whole, over 18,000 flats were finished in 2024, says HDB.
According to HDB, the finalization of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) denotes the completion of all flats in the Punggol Point District. This includes Punggol Point Cove (Stage 1), Punggol Point Woods and Punggol Point Crown BTO ventures, which were completed in 2024.
In 2024, HDB completed a sum of 22 house ventures, 17 of which were postponed by the pandemic. With the exemption of one that was postponed as a result of non-pandemic reasons, the standing four house assignments were accomplished on schedule.
As at Jan 15, 657 homes or 59% of 1,109 lined up units have picked up their keys.
Situated around Serangoon Road, Lavender Street and Boon Kheng Road, Kempas Residences BTO project has 583 units of two-room flexi, three-, four-room apartments throughout four residential blocks.
Apartment owners of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) have been receiving the keys to their brand-new home from November 2024, whilst key collection for Kempas Residence started in mid-January this year.
At the moment, 110 HDB housing projects are under construction, up from 95 a year ago due to the increase in BTO supply in recent years. HDB says it is on track to finish around 17,000 condos all around 27 projects in 2025.
